If there is anyone/anything responsible for all the bad decisions girls make in choosing the right mate, it would be the media. Yes, it’s you, media. (Now, go to the corner and think about what you’ve done!)

I can’t help but notice that in most movies and TV series that I have already watched, the female protagonist almost always ends up falling for the douche bag (a.k.a. The rich asshole who hates the world because his parents were never there, the school drop out who only wanted attention, the tough guy with a big heart and the like). These stories have infiltrated our cinemas and televisions like that big Yersinia pestis pandemic in Europe. It’s almost like a trend to fall for guys who treat you like crap now. And it’s not making the female population any wiser.

I’m afraid that this influence created this common notion that assholes are just sad guys with issues and they all have hearts of gold. But let’s face it, that’s not always the case. Sometimes, they are simply just what they are… Jerks. So, girls, choose the guy who is genuinely nice to you and who respects you. Bad boys are so overrated.
